Regular Season Round 8: Cedevita - MZT Skopje 95-61
Date: November 30, 2016
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Croatian Cedevita (5-2) crushed bottom-ranked FYR Macedonian MZT Skopje (0-6) in Zagreb 95-61 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Cedevita. MZT Skopje was better in second period 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded MZT Skopje 43-24 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American point guard Ryan Boatright (183-92, college: Connecticut) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. Center Miro Bilan (213-89, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Serbian guard Stefan Sinovec (195-88, agency: BeoBasket) replied with 10 points and Croatian center Jure Lalic (211-86) added 14 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for MZT Skopje. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cedevita have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending Croatian champion maintains second position in Group A with 5-2 record having just one point less than leader Gran Canaria. Defending FYR Macedonian champion MZT Skopje still closes the standings with six games lost. Cedevita will have a break next round. MZT Skopje will play at home against BC Nizhny Novgorod (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
