Regular Season Round 4: Nice - Landes 67-64

Important game to mention about took place in Nice. First ranked Nice (3-1) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 4th ranked Basket Landes (1-3) 67-64 on Wednesday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-14. But Basket Landes won second period 14-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Basket Landes were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Victoria Macaulay (193-90, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import forward Ambrosia Anderson (186-84, college: BYU, agency: Two Points) contributed with 10 points for the winners. Nice's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American center Cierra Bravard (193-89, college: Florida St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) replied with 28 points and Julie Barennes (183-86) added 12 points in the effort for Basket Landes. Nice have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group G with 3-1 record, which they share with Venezia. Basket Landes lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Fribourg. Nice will play against Fribourg (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Basket Landes will play against the league's second-placed Venezia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
