Regular Season Round 4: Samsun - Dynamo NR 63-55

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Russian Dynamo NR (1-3) against fourth ranked Turkish Samsun (1-3) on Thursday night. Visiting Dynamo NR was defeated by Samsun in a tough game in Samsun 55-63. Dynamo NR was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 37-23 second half run of Samsun. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Dynamo NR to just 6 points in third quarter. They made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by Montenegrin-American swingman Eshaya Murphy (181-85, college: USC) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Croatian forward Antonija Sandric (181-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) supported her with 20 points and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds by American center Latoya Williams (192-87, college: Chipola JC) did not help to save the game for Dynamo NR. Canadian forward Tamara Tatham (185-85, college: Massachusetts) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Samsun left bottom position moving up to third place in Group C, which they share with defeated Dynamo NR. It was Dynamo NR's third loss in a row. Samsun's next round opponent will be league's leader Galatasaray in Istanbul and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dynamo NR will play at home against the league's second-placed TTT Riga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
