Regular Season Round 4: Udominate - Flammes 68-86

Not a big story in a game in Umea where 3rd ranked Swedish Udominate (1-3) was defeated by top-ranked French Flammes (4-0) 86-68 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Flammes. Udominate was better in third quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Flammes dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Udominate's 34. They outrebounded Udominate 35-17 including a 30-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. Flammes looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. American center Alicia DeVaughn (193-91, college: Maryland, agency: Josep and Nicolas) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Amel Bouderra (160-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 assists. Four Flammes players scored in double figures. Lithuanian point guard Santa Okockyte (175-92) produced 20 points and 5 assists and guard Martina Stalvant (176-89, agency: Two Points) added 13 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Flammes have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group H with 4-0 record. Loser Udominate keeps the third place with three games lost. Flammes will face Lulea Basket (#4) at home in the next round. Udominate will play against the league's second-placed TSV 1880 Wasserburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
