Regular Season Round 5: Belfius Namur - Nymburk 54-61

There was no surprise when 4th placed Belgian Belfius Namur (0-5) lost at home to second ranked Czech Basketball Nymburk (4-1) 61-54 on Wednesday. Belfius Namur trailed by 19 points after 3 quarters before a 21-9 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 54-61 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Belfius Namur 45-24 including a 23-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Russian-Ukrainian center Aleksandra Khomenchuk (202-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds. Romanian Sonia Ursu (176-93) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Basketball Nymburk's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Spanish point guard Anna Gomez (181-86) answered with 26 points and 5 rebounds and center Kyara Linskens (189-96, agency: LBM Management) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Belfius Namur. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Basketball Nymburk. They keep a position of Group E leader, which they share with Ragusa. Belfius Namur lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Basketball Nymburk will face league's second-placed Ragusa at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Belfius Namur will play against Nantes Reze and hopes to get finally their first victory.
