Not a big story in a game when 4th ranked Portuguese Uniao Sportiva (0-6) was rolled over on the road by top-ranked Spanish Argon Uni Girona (6-0) 89-67 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Argon Uni Girona. Uniao Sportiva was better in fourth quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Argon Uni Girona dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Uniao Sportiva's 24. Argon Uni Girona looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Uniao Sportiva's players. American forward Haley Peters (190-92, college: Duke) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Nigerian-American Ifunanya Ibekwe (187-89, college: Arizona, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Argon Uni Girona players scored in double figures. Argon Uni Girona's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Jasmine Crew (170-89, college: Seton Hall) with 23 points and 6 assists and her fellow American import forward Tiffany Jones (190, college: Seton Hall) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds.
