Regular Season Round 6: Sparta&K MR - H-Sirenos 78-59

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Russian Spartak Vidnoye and one of their biggest challengers Lithuanian Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas had identical 1-4 record. This time Spartak Vidnoye used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Kaunas 78-59 on Thursday night. The game was mostly controlled by Spartak Vidnoye. Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas was better in fourth quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Spartak Vidnoye dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas' 28. Spartak Vidnoye forced 23 Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Croatian Ivana Dojkic (180-97) scored 17 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Kamilla Ogun (190-99) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Rasa Zemantauskaite-Matla (176-81) with 14 points and 4 steals (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and point guard Rasa Knyzaite (172-98) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Spartak Vidnoye maintains third position in Group A with 2-4 record having just eight point less than leader Basket Gdynia. Defending Lithuanian champion Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas keep the fourth place with five games lost.
