Second Stage Round 1: Cedevita - Valencia 86-89

Cedevita was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Valencia 89-86 on Wednesday night. Cedevita was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 25-21 charge of Valencia Basket, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Cedevita's players. Quite impressive performance for Montenegrin Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 17 points. French point guard Antoine Diot (193-89) contributed with 5 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. American point guard Ryan Boatright (183-92, college: Connecticut) answered with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 11 assists and the other American import guard Ra'shad James (188-90, college: Kaiser) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Cedevita. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Valencia Basket will face ALBA Berlin (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Cedevita will play against Unicaja Malaga and hope to win that game.
