Second Stage Round 4: Valencia - Unicaja 86-62

Date: January 25, 2017
The game between closely ranked teams ended with their biggest opponent Unicaja Malaga's (2-2) road loss to top-ranked Valencia Basket (4-0) 62-86 on Wednesday. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Fernando San Emeterio (199-84) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and French point guard Antoine Diot (193-89) who added 14 points and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side point guard Alberto Diaz (188-94) responded with 11 points and American point guard Kyle Fogg (190-90, college: Arizona) scored 10 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Valencia Basket have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group H with 4-0 record. Loser Unicaja Malaga keeps the second place with two games lost. Valencia Basket will face Cedevita (#4) in Zagreb in the next round. Unicaja Malaga will play at home against ALBA Berlin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
