An exciting game was played in Jerusalem. First ranked Israeli Hapoel Jerusalem faced 3rd placed Lithuanian Lietuvos rytas. Host Hapoel Jerusalem (4-1) defeated guests from Vilnius (2-3) 84-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lietuvos rytas. Lietuvos rytas were trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 23-15 charge of Hapoel Jerusalem, which allowed them to win the game. They made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Lietuvos rytas were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American swingman Tarence Kinsey (202-84, college: S.Carolina) who scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import Amare Stoudemire (208-82) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. American-Senegalese point guard Clevin Hannah (179-87, college: Wichita St.) produced 14 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and Rokas Giedraitis (198-92) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Hapoel Jerusalem and four Lietuvos rytas players scored in double figures. Hapoel Jerusalem maintains first place in Group G with 4-1 record. Loser Lietuvos rytas keep the third position with three games lost. Hapoel Jerusalem will face BC Nizhny Novgorod (#4) on the road in the next round. Lietuvos rytas will play against the league's second-placed Zenit and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
