Second Stage Round 6: ALBA - Valencia 73-99

Rather predictable result when top-ranked Spanish Valencia Basket (6-0) rolled over on the road 4th ranked German ALBA Berlin (1-5) 99-73 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Valencia Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.7 percent from the field. Valencia Basket outrebounded ALBA Berlin 34-15 including a 24-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Valencia Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for Montenegrin Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Belgian point guard Sam Van Rossom (188-86) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Four Valencia Basket players scored in double figures. Canadian guard Carl English (195-81, college: Hawaii) replied with 18 points and Bosnian center Elmedin Kikanovic (211-88, agency: BeoBasket) added 18 points in the effort for ALBA Berlin. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Valencia Basket have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group H with 6-0 record. ALBA Berlin lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with five games lost.
