Greek Olympiacos smashed Polish AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski in Pireus 69-50. The game without a history. Olympiacos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Olga Chatzinikolaou (181-81) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Victoria Macaulay (193-90, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) for the winners. Four Olympiacos players scored in double figures. American center Carolyn Swords (198-89, college: Boston Coll., agency: LBM Management) answered with 7 points and 11 rebounds and Russian-Belarusian forward Yuliya Rytsikava (181-86, agency: LBM Management) added 15 points and 4 steals in the effort for AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski will play next round against strong TTT Riga trying to get back on the winning streak. Olympiacos will try to continue on its current victory against Besiktas at Istanbul.
