But Galatasaray was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Muenchen 86-69 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Bayern Muenchen. Galatasaray was better in third quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bayern Muenchen forced 20 Galatasaray turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Galatasaray's players. American guard Braydon Hobbs (196-89, college: Bellarmine) stepped up and scored 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Serbian Milan Macvan (206-89) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Bayern Muenchen players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Scotty Hopson (200-89, college: Tennessee) responded with 19 points and American-FYR Macedonian center Richard Hendrix (203-86, college: Alabama, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Bayern Muenchen will face Lietkabelis in Panevezys in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Galatasaray will play on the road against Grissin Bon RE (#4) in Reggio Emilia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
