Regular Season Round 3: Buducnost - Galatasaray 87-78

Not a big story in a game when Turkish Galatasaray (0-3) lost to Montenegrin Buducnost (3-0) in Podgorica 78-87 on Wednesday. Galatasaray trailed by 18 points at halftime and as many as 20 after three quarters before a 29-18 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 78-87 at the end of the game. Galatasaray was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for center Zoran Nikolic (212-96) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Point guard Nikola Ivanovic (190-94, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. Buducnost's coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American-Bosnian point guard Alex Renfroe (191-86, college: Belmont, agency: BeoBasket) answered with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American swingman Scotty Hopson (200-89, college: Tennessee) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Galatasaray. Five Buducnost and four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Buducnost will face Bayern Muenchen at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Galatasaray will play against Lietkabelis (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
