Regular Season Round 3: Atomeromu - GDESSA 91-65

Atomeromu used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Barreiro 91-65 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Atomeromu. GDESSA was better in second period 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding GDESSA to just 6 points in first quarter. Atomeromu dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to GDESSA's 34 and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Atomeromu looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for Slovenian point guard Teja Oblak (172-90) who led her team to a victory scoring 19 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Forward Livia Gereben (183-99) helped adding 13 points and 7 assists. Four Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Atomeromu's coach felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American forward Ashli Payne (183-95, college: E.Washington, agency: Gamble Sports Management) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and Marcia Costa (173-89) scored 20 points and 4 assists. Atomeromu will face Ragusa on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. GDESSA will play against Basketball Nymburk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
