Regular Season Round 3: Abdullah Gul - Basket Gdynia 67-62

There was a minor upset in Kayseri where Polish Basket Gdynia (1-2) was defeated by Turkish Abdullah Gul (1-2) 67-62 on Wednesday. Basket Gdynia trailed 38-35 at halftime, rallying from a 23-7 deficit at the end of first quarter to trim the gap. Abdullah Gul dominated on the defensive end, holding Basket Gdynia to just 7 points in first quarter. It was a great evening for Australian center Marianna Tolo (196-89, agency: ProDep Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. American-Serbian forward Danielle Page (188-86, college: Nebraska) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Kahleah Copper (185-94, college: Rutgers, agency: LBM Management) with 12 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Victoria Jankoska (174-94, college: Michigan St.) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Basket Gdynia players scored in double figures. Abdullah Gul will face Istanbul Uni (#4) at home in the next round. Basket Gdynia will play against Sleza Wroclaw and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
