Regular Season Round 3: Girona - Cegledi EKK 86-55

Not a big story in a game when Hungarian Cegledi EKK (1-2) was rolled over on the road by Spanish Argon Uni Girona (3-0) 86-55 on Thursday. The game without a history. Argon Uni Girona led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Cegledi EKK's 32. They outrebounded Cegledi EKK 45-29 including 35 on the defensive glass. Argon Uni Girona looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Brazilian center Nadia Colhado (193-89, agency: ProDep Management) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. French point guard Magali Mendy (178-90, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Argon Uni Girona players scored in double figures. Argon Uni Girona's coach felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Serbian center Jelena Maksimovic (191-82) with 12 points and 6 rebounds and DR Congolese forward Chanel Mokango (196-88, college: Mississippi St., agency: ProDep Management) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Argon Uni Girona will face Gernika (#4) at home in the next round. Cegledi EKK will play against Basket Landes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
