Regular Season Round 4: Sf.Gheorghe - Energa Torun 71-49

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Sfantu Gheorghe where one of their biggest challengers Polish Energa Torun (1-3) was outplayed by fourth ranked Romanian Sf.Gheorghe (1-3) 71-49 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Sf.Gheorghe led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Sf.Gheorghe forced 24 Energa Torun turnovers. American swingman Tyaunna Marshall (175-92, college: Georgia Tech) fired 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Annemarie Parau (172-84) chipped in 8 points and 9 assists. Sf.Gheorghe's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Kelley Cain (198-89, college: Tennessee) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and Agnieszka Skobel (180-89) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Defending Romanian champion left bottom position moving up to third place in Group D, which they share with defeated Energa Torun. It was Energa Torun's third loss in a row. Sf.Gheorghe will face league's leader Hatay on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Energa Torun will play against the league's second-placed Piestanske C. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
