Regular Season Round 4: Cedevita - Unics 94-74
Date: November 1, 2017
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Zagreb where one of their biggest challengers Russian Unics Kazan (2-2) was crushed by fourth ranked Croatian Cedevita (2-2) 94-74 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-74. Cedevita made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Roko-Leni Ukic (196-84) who helped to win the game recording 18 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and Bosnian Dzanan Musa (200-99, agency: BeoBasket) who added 20 points during the contest. Four Cedevita players scored in double figures. At the losing side Gabonese forward Stephane Lasme (203-82, college: Massachusetts) responded with 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and Spanish guard Joaquin Colom (188-88, college: Forca Lleida, agency: Interperformances) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending Croatian champion moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with Unics. Cedevita will face Paris-Levallois (#6) on the road in the next round. Unics Kazan will play against the league's second-placed Fiat TO and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
