Regular Season Round 4: Basket Gdynia - Sleza Wroclaw 59-66

Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Sleza Wroclaw (4-0) won against on the road 3rd ranked Basket Gdynia (1-3) 66-59 on Thursday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Basket Gdynia won fourth quarter 15-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sleza Wroclaw dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Basket Gdynia's 20. American point guard Sharnee Zoll-Norman (170-86, college: Virginia) fired 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Dutch Kourtney Treffers (187-94, agency: Court Side) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. American-Lithuanian forward Sofija Aleksandravicius (192-91, college: Davidson, agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and guard Anna Makurat (181-0) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Basket Gdynia's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sleza Wroclaw have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending Polish champion maintains first position in Group E with 4-0 record. Loser Basket Gdynia keeps the third place with three games lost. Sleza Wroclaw will face league's second-placed Abdullah Gul in Kayseri in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Basket Gdynia will play on the road against Istanbul Uni and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
