Regular Season Round 4: Sparta&K MR - Udominate 79-65

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers Swedish Udominate (2-2) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Russian Spartak Vidnoye (1-3) 79-65 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Spartak Vidnoye. Udominate was better in third quarter 26-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Udominate to just 6 points in first quarter. Spartak Vidnoye made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Udominate turnovers. Strangely Udominate outrebounded Spartak Vidnoye 45-32 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Spartak Vidnoye made 9 blocks. Udominate was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Julia Gladkova (185-94) fired 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Croatian Ivana Dojkic (180-97) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Spartak Vidnoye players scored in double figures. Spartak Vidnoye's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Croatian forward Ana-Marija Begic (190-94) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Mante Kvederaviciute (180-90) added 20 points respectively for lost side. Spartak Vidnoye maintains fourth position in Group C with 1-3 record. Loser Udominate keeps the third place with two games lost. Spartak Vidnoye will face league's second-placed MBA in Moscow in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Udominate will play at home against the league's leader Artego Bydg. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
