Regular Season Round 5: Hapoel J-M - Galatasaray 81-91
Date: November 8, 2017
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when sixth ranked Turkish Galatasaray (1-4) beat on the road 5th ranked Israeli Hapoel Jerusalem (1-4) 91-81 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Galatasaray. Hapoel Jerusalem was better in second period 27-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Galatasaray looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Congolese Dwight Hardy (188-87, college: St.John's) who scored 24 points. American DaJuan Summers (203-88, college: Georgetown, agency: GFSG) chipped in 19 points. American-Israeli power forward Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds and American Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) added 18 points and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Four Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. Hapoel Jerusalem's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Galatasaray left bottom position moving up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with Hapoel J-M. Galatasaray will face league's leader Bayern Muenchen on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hapoel Jerusalem will play against the league's second-placed Lietkabelis (#2) and hope to win that game.
