Regular Season Round 6: Unics - Andorra 89-80

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Russian Unics Kazan (4-2) beat at home bottom-ranked Spanish Andorra (1-5) 89-80 on Wednesday. Andorra trailed by 18 points at halftime and as many as 22 after three quarters before a 27-14 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 80-89 at the end of the game. Unics Kazan looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for Gabonese forward Stephane Lasme (203-82, college: Massachusetts) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Trent Lockett (196-90, college: Marquette) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Point guard Jaime Fernandez (186-93) replied with 16 points and 5 assists and Senegalese-Spanish center Moussa Diagne (211-94, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Andorra. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Unics Kazan maintains second position in Group A with 4-2 record having just two points less than leader Darussafaka. Loser Andorra stay at the bottom place with five games lost. Unics Kazan will face Paris-Levallois (#6) on the road in the next round. Andorra will play against Fiat TO and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
