Regular Season Round 5: Sleza Wroclaw - Abdullah Gul 73-68

The game between closely ranked teams ended with leader Polish Sleza Wroclaw's (5-0) home victory over bottom-ranked Turkish Abdullah Gul (2-3) 73-68 on Wednesday. Abdullah Gul was trailing by 12 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 17-10 charge of Sleza Wroclaw, which allowed them to win the game. American point guard Sharnee Zoll-Norman (170-86, college: Virginia) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 assists. Spanish guard Tania Perez-Torres (183-91) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Sleza Wroclaw players scored in double figures. Australian center Marianna Tolo (196-89, agency: ProDep Management) answered with 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and Romanian forward Gabriela Marginean (182-87, college: Drexel, agency: LBM Management) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Abdullah Gul. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Sleza Wroclaw. Defending Polish champion maintains first place in Group E with 5-0 record. Loser Abdullah Gul stay at the bottom position with three games lost. Sleza Wroclaw will face Istanbul Uni (#4) on the road in the next round. Abdullah Gul will play against Basket Gdynia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
