Regular Season Round 7: Andorra - Fiat TO 83-77

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Spanish Andorra (2-5) defeated at home 4th placed Italian Fiat TO (3-4) 83-77 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Fiat TO won third quarter 28-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Andorra made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Fiat TO turnovers. Fiat TO was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Jaime Fernandez (186-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 4 assists. Serbian power forward Oliver Stevic (204-84, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 16 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American point guard Diante Garrett (196-88, college: Iowa St.) responded with 17 points and 5 assists and Slovenian Sasha Vujacic (201-84, agency: Interperformances) scored 16 points and 5 steals. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Andorra maintains fifth place in Group A with 2-5 record. Fiat TO lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fourth position with four games lost. Andorra will face higher ranked Cedevita (#3) in Zagreb in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fiat TO will play at home against Paris-Levallois and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
