Regular Season Round 7: Lietkabelis - B.Muenchen 87-88

A very close game took place in Panevezys between German Bayern Muenchen and Lithuanian Lietkabelis. Leader Bayern Muenchen (7-0) got a very close victory on the road over 3rd placed Lietkabelis (3-4). Bayern Muenchen managed to escape with a 1-point win 88-87 on Wednesday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 55-53 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Serbian Milan Macvan (206-89) fired 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Reggie Redding (195-88, college: Villanova) chipped in 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Adas Juskevicius (194-89) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and center Ksistof Lavrinovic (209-79) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Four Lietkabelis players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Bayern Muenchen have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group B with 7-0 record. Loser Lietkabelis keep the third position with four games lost. They share it with Grissin Bon RE. Bayern Muenchen will meet at home Hapoel Jerusalem (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lietkabelis will play against Grissin Bon RE in Reggio Emilia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
