The game between closely ranked teams ended with first ranked Turkish Darussafaka's (7-1) road victory over second-ranked Russian Unics Kazan (5-3) 79-75 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 4 points. The best player for the winners was American guard Scottie Wilbekin (188-93, college: Florida) who scored 19 points and 5 assists. The other American import power forward JaJuan Johnson (208-89, college: Purdue) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. Spanish guard Joaquin Colom (188-88, college: Forca Lleida, agency: Interperformances) produced 16 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and Gabonese forward Stephane Lasme (203-82, college: Massachusetts) added 18 points and 6 blocks respectively for the hosts. Four Darussafaka and five Unics Kazan players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Darussafaka maintains first position in Group A with 7-1 record. Loser Unics Kazan keeps the second place with three games lost. Darussafaka will face Fiat TO (#4) in Torino in the next round. Unics Kazan will play at home against Cedevita and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
