Very expected game when 6th ranked Israeli Hapoel Jerusalem (2-6) was rolled over on the road by top-ranked German Bayern Muenchen (8-0) 111-85 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Bayern Muenchen. Hapoel Jerusalem was better in third quarter 30-29. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bayern Muenchen dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Hapoel Jerusalem's 36 and made 29-of-34 free shots (85.3 percent) during the game, while Hapoel Jerusalem only scored thirteen points from the stripe. Bayern Muenchen looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Hapoel Jerusalem was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Tarence Kinsey (200-84, college: S.Carolina) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Kalin Lucas (185-89, college: Michigan St.) added 13 points and 8 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bayern Muenchen have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group B with 8-0 record. Defending Israeli champion Hapoel Jerusalem keeps the sixth place with six games lost. Bayern Muenchen will face Buducnost (#3) in Podgorica in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hapoel Jerusalem will play at home against Grissin Bon RE and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
