Regular Season Round 9: B.Muenchen - Buducnost 85-82

Second-ranked Montenegrin Buducnost (4-5) was very close to win a game against leader German Bayern Muenchen (9-0). Bayern Muenchen managed to secure only three-point victory 85-82. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-17. But Buducnost won second period 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bayern Muenchen made 26-of-30 charity shots (86.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Buducnost turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Buducnost helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American center Devin Booker (205-91, college: Clemson) who scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Jared Cunningham (194-91, college: Oregon St., agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 15 points. Four Bayern Muenchen players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Nikola Ivanovic (190-94, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 27 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Bosnian point guard Nemanja Gordic (193-88) added 22 points and 7 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Bayern Muenchen have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group B with 9-0 record. Defending Montenegrin champion Buducnost dropped to the bottom position with five games lost. Bayern Muenchen's next round opponent will be Grissin Bon RE (#4) in Reggio Emilia. Buducnost will play at home against Lietkabelis and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
