Regular Season Round 9: Hapoel J-M - Grissin Bon RE 66-79

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Italian Grissin Bon RE's (4-5) road victory over 6th ranked Israeli Hapoel Jerusalem (2-7) 79-66 on Wednesday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Grissin Bon RE's pressure prevailed and they won that period 17-6 extending their advantage to 13 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hapoel Jerusalem to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Grissin Bon RE forced 19 Hapoel Jerusalem turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American point guard Chris Wright (185-89, college: Georgetown) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import forward Jalen Reynolds (208-92, college: Xavier) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Grissin Bon RE players scored in double figures. American Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) answered with 27 points and 5 assists and Dominican-American forward Ronald Roberts (203-91, college: St.Joseph's, agency: Pensack Sports) added 14 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Hapoel Jerusalem. Grissin Bon RE moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Galatasaray and Lietkabelis. Hapoel Jerusalem lost their third game in a row. Defending Israeli champion keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Grissin Bon RE will face league's leader Bayern Muenchen at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hapoel Jerusalem will play against the league's second-placed Galatasaray (#2) in Istanbul and hope to win that game.
