Regular Season Round 9: Lietuvos rytas - ALBA 94-73

There was a minor upset when second-best German ALBA Berlin (5-4) was outleveled by fourth ranked Lithuanian Lietuvos rytas (5-4) in Vilnius 94-73 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Lietuvos rytas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to ALBA Berlin's 26. Lietuvos rytas looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by ALBA Berlin's players. It was a good game for American power forward Travis Peterson (208-85, college: Samford) who led his team to a victory with 21 points. Australian swingman Ben Madgen (193-85, college: Augusta) contributed with 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Lietuvos rytas players scored in double figures. Serbian-German center Bogdan Radosavljevic (213-93) answered with 14 points and 9 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Marius Grigonis (198-94) added 9 points and 4 assists in the effort for ALBA Berlin. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lietuvos rytas moved-up to second place in Group C, which they share with Limoges and ALBA. ALBA Berlin lost their third game in a row. Lietuvos rytas will face Limoges CSP Elite (#4) on the road in the next round. ALBA Berlin will play against RETAbet BB and hope to win that game.
