Regular Season Round 10: ALBA - RETAbet BB 86-68

Everything went according to plan when third ranked German ALBA Berlin (6-4) beat at home 5th ranked Spanish RETAbet BB (2-8) 86-68 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by ALBA Berlin. RETAbet BB was better in third quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ALBA Berlin looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American center Dennis Clifford (216-92, college: Boston Coll.) had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American-German guard Akeem Vargas (192-90, college: Iowa Lakes CC) chipped in 18 points during the contest. Five ALBA Berlin players scored in double figures. At the losing side American Devin Thomas (206-94, college: Wake Forest) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Javier Salgado (183-80) scored 9 points and 7 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory ALBA Berlin went down to fifteenth position (Group C) due to points difference, which they share with Dolomiti En. TR and Zenit. Loser RETAbet BB dropped to the seventeenth place with eight games lost.
