Regular Season Round 1: ALBA - Tofas 107-91

ALBA Berlin used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Bursa 107-91 on Tuesday night. Tofas were trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 33-16 charge of ALBA Berlin, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Tofas' 34. ALBA Berlin forced 21 Tofas turnovers and outrebounded them 29-18 including 20 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. ALBA Berlin looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) fired 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Point guard Peyton Siva (183-90, college: Louisville) chipped in 9 points and 14 assists. Guard Demonte Harper (193-89, college: Morehead St.) produced 20 points and point guard Diante Garrett (196-88, college: Iowa St.) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. ALBA Berlin will face Cedevita (#5) in Zagreb in the next round. Tofas will play at home against Asseco Arka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
