Regular Season Round 1: Rytas - Unicaja 80-72

Rytas used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Malaga 80-72 on Tuesday night. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 26-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Forward Eimantas Bendzius (204-90) fired 18 points for the winners. Power forward Evaldas Kairys (207-90) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Rytas players scored in double figures. American point guard Brian Roberts (187-85, college: Dayton) produced 13 points (made all of his seven free throws) and French center Mathias Lessort (206-95, agency: BeoBasket) added 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Unicaja Malaga's coach gave the chance to play for eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Rytas will face Unics Kazan on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Unicaja Malaga will play against Deutsche Bank Skyliners and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
