Unics Kazan used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Vilnius 86-73 on Wednesday night. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-73. American point guard Pierria Henry (193-93, college: Charlotte) orchestrated the victory by scoring 10 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. The other American import guard Trent Lockett (196-90, college: Marquette) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Unics Kazan's coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Guard Deividas Sirvydis (200-0) replied with 17 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American swingman Dominique Sutton (198-86, college: N.C.Central) added 14 points in the effort for Rytas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Unics Kazan will face Fiat TO (#6) in Torino in the next round where they are favorite. Rytas will play at home against Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#5) and hope to win that game.
