Important game to mention about took place in Zagreb. Croatian Cedevita (1-1) saved a 2-point victory at home edging German ALBA Berlin (1-1) 75-73 in the game for the second place. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But ALBA Berlin won fourth quarter 23-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cedevita forced 21 ALBA Berlin turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. ALBA Berlin was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Justin Cobbs (191-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists. Brazilian Vitor Benite (192-90) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Cedevita players scored in double figures. Lithuanian Rokas Giedraitis (201-92) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Peyton Siva (183-90, college: Louisville) added 11 points and 6 assists in the effort for ALBA Berlin. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Cedevita will face Asseco Arka (#6) in Gdynia in the next round. ALBA Berlin will play on the road against Limoges CSP Elite (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
