Regular Season Round 4: Galatasaray - Monaco 85-86

An interesting game took place in Istanbul where third ranked French Monaco (3-1) edged by one point their biggest opponent Turkish Galatasaray (2-2) 86-85 on Wednesday night. It was a key game for the second position in Group A. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Montenegrin point guard Derek Needham (180-90, college: Fairfield) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 5 assists and Ghanian-French Billy Ouattara (194-92, agency: BeoBasket) who added 24 points during the contest. At the losing side American Aaron Harrison (198-94, college: Kentucky) responded with 24 points and 4 assists and New Zealand guard Tai-Jack Webster (193-95, college: Nebraska) scored 15 points and 8 assists. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Galatasaray's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Monaco moved-up to second place in Group A. Galatasaray at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. Monaco will meet at home Andorra (#4) in the next round. Galatasaray will play against the league's leader Crvena Zvezda in Beograd and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
