Regular Season Round 4: Rytas - Fiat TO 86-79

Everything went according to plan in Vilnius where fourth ranked Lithuanian Rytas (2-2) won against bottom-ranked Italian Fiat TO (0-4) 86-79 on Wednesday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-12. But Fiat TO won third quarter 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rytas made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. Rytas outrebounded Fiat TO 44-23 including a 15-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. Swingman Dominique Sutton (198-86, college: N.C.Central) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. DJ Seeley (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds. Four Rytas players scored in double figures. Rytas' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Tony Carr (196-97, college: Penn St.) produced 20 points and guard Tyshawn Taylor (191-90, college: Kansas) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Rytas maintains fourth position in Group D with 2-2 record. Loser Fiat TO still closes the standings with four games lost. Rytas will face Mornar Bar (#5) on the road in the next round. Fiat TO will play against the league's leader Unicaja Malaga and hopes to get finally their first victory.
