But A3 Basket was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Adana 82-65 on Wednesday night. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 46-22 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Botas dominated on the defensive end, holding A3 Basket to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They also forced 21 A3 Basket turnovers. Botas looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Quite impressive performance for American guard Jewell Loyd (178-93, college: Notre Dame) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Her fellow American import power forward Elizabeth Williams (190-93, college: Duke) contributed with 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Botas' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American guard Tiffany Brown (165-86, college: Georgia South) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and forward Abigail Asoro (183-93, college: Iowa Western CC) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for A3 Basket. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Botas will face Cukurova in Mersin in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. A3 Basket will play on the road against Beroe in Stara Zagora and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
