Regular Season Round 5: Mornar Bar - Rytas 69-92

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Lithuanian Rytas' (3-2) road victory over 5th ranked Montenegrin Mornar Bar (1-4) 92-69 on Wednesday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Rytas dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Mornar Bar's 30. Rytas forced 21 Mornar Bar turnovers. Power forward Martynas Echodas (206-97) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 6 rebounds. American swingman Dominique Sutton (198-86, college: N.C.Central) contributed with 12 points for the winners. American guard Bronson Koenig (192-94, college: Wisconsin) answered with 14 points and Serbian Strahinja Micovic (205-92) added 11 points in the effort for Mornar Bar. Five Rytas and four Mornar Bar players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rytas moved-up to third place in Group D, which they share with Fraport SKY. Mornar Bar lost third consecutive game. Defending Montenegrin champion keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Rytas will face league's leader Unicaja Malaga on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mornar Bar will play against the league's second-placed Unics Kazan (#2) and hope to win that game.
