And what about another game where Polish Wisla Krakow (#2) beat Belarusian Tsmoki-Minsk 61-56 on the road. It looked good early as Tsmoki-Minsk took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Wisla Krakow had a 12-6 second period charge getting the lead and Tsmoki-Minsk was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 56-61. Wisla Krakow dominated on the defensive end, holding Tsmoki-Minsk to just 6 points in second quarter. Wisla Krakow had a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American center Mercedes Russell (198-95, college: Tennessee) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. The other American import point guard Jordin Canada (168-95, college: UCLA) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Ala Murauskaya (187-85) replied with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and center Viktoryia Hasper (192-88) added 11 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Tsmoki-Minsk. Wisla Krakow's next round opponent will be Besiktas (#4) in Istanbul. Tsmoki-Minsk will play on the road against Inventa in Kursk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
