Regular Season Round 6: Fiat TO - Fraport SKY 75-85
Date: November 6, 2018
Rather expected game in Torino where bottom-ranked Italian Fiat TO (0-6) was defeated by third ranked German Deutsche Bank Skyliners (4-2) 85-75 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Deutsche Bank Skyliners. Fiat TO was better in fourth quarter 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Fiat TO 32-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-90, college: Florida) scored 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Jason Clark (188-90, college: Georgetown) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists during the contest. Deutsche Bank Skyliners' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American guard Tony Carr (196-97, college: Penn St.) with 18 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Tyshawn Taylor (191-90, college: Kansas) scored 18 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Loser Fiat TO still closes the standings with six games lost. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will face league's leader Unicaja Malaga at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fiat TO will play against Mornar Bar (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
