Rather predictable result in Bursa where second ranked German ALBA Berlin (5-1) defeated 4th ranked Turkish Tofas (2-4) 106-101 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Tofas 45-33 including 18 on the offensive glass. ALBA Berlin looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Tofas were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Lithuanian Rokas Giedraitis (201-92) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Niels Giffey (200-91, college: Connecticut) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. ALBA Berlin's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard Diante Garrett (193-88, college: Iowa St.) with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists and his fellow American import guard Sammy Mejia (199-83, college: De Paul) scored 28 points and 6 assists.
