Regular Season Round 3: Lattes Montp. - Cegledi EKK 92-50

There was no surprise when Hungarian Cegledi EKK (0-3) was crushed on the road by French Lattes Montpellier (3-0) 92-50 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Lattes Montpellier led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Cegledi EKK to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Lattes Montpellier made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Cegledi EKK turnovers. The best player for the winners was American-Australian swingman Samantha Whitcomb (178-88, college: Washington) who scored 30 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Polish-French center Helena Ciak (197-89) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Lattes Montpellier players scored in double figures. Lattes Montpellier's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Mozambican power forward Leia Dongue (185-91) who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds and Icelandic swingman Helena Sverrisdottir (184-88, college: TCU) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively. Lattes Montpellier will face Lyon on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cegledi EKK will play against Gruner Stern Keltern and hopes to get finally their first victory.
