Regular Season Round 8: Cedevita - Asseco Arka 94-87

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Polish Asseco Arka (1-7) lost to third ranked Croatian Cedevita (5-3) in Zagreb 87-94 on Wednesday. Asseco Arka was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 31-23 charge of Cedevita, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Asseco Arka's 42. American guard Justin Cobbs (191-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 7 assists. Georgian-American point guard Jacob Pullen (184-89, college: Kansas St.) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four Cedevita players scored in double figures. Cedevita's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman Josh Bostic (196-87, college: Findlay, OH) replied with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and his fellow American import center Robert Upshaw (213-94, college: Washington) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Asseco Arka. Cedevita have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending Croatian champion maintains third position in Group B with 5-3 record behind leader Monaco. Asseco Arka lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Cedevita will face league's leader Lokomotiv in Krasnodar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Asseco Arka will play at home against the league's second-placed ALBA Berlin (#2) and hope to win that game.
