Regular Season Round 8: Fraport SKY - Rytas 65-63

Important game to mention about took place in Frankfurt. Third ranked German Deutsche Bank Skyliners (5-3) saved a 2-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Lithuanian Rytas (3-5) 65-63 in the fight for the third place. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian guard Trae Bell-Haynes (188-95, college: Vermont) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Quantez Robertson (188-84, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) who added 12 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Robertson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Deutsche Bank Skyliners players scored in double figures. Deutsche Bank Skyliners' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Eimantas Bendzius (204-90) responded with 14 points and guard Mindaugas Girdziunas (188-89) scored 13 points. Deutsche Bank Skyliners maintains third position in Group D with 5-3 record behind leader Monaco. Rytas lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with five games lost. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play against Mornar Bar (#5) on the road in the next round. Rytas will play against Fiat TO in Torino and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
