No shocking result in a game when second ranked Russian Unics Kazan (7-1) beat bottom-ranked Italian Fiat TO (0-8) in Torino 82-72 on Wednesday. Unics Kazan made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Unics Kazan outrebounded Fiat TO 39-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. American point guard Pierria Henry (193-93, college: Charlotte) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. The other American import guard Jamar Smith (191-87, college: S.Indiana, agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Unics Kazan's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Argentinian-Italian Carlos Delfino (198-82) replied with 19 points and American guard Tony Carr (196-97, college: Penn St.) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Fiat TO. Unics Kazan have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group D leader, which they share with Unicaja. Loser Fiat TO still closes the standings with eight games lost. Unics Kazan will face league's leader Unicaja Malaga at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fiat TO will play against Rytas (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
