Regular Season Round 4: Nantes - Venezia 63-57

Eurocup round 4 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Italian Venezia (2-2) against third ranked French Nantes Reze (2-2) 63-57 was the most important game of the last round. It was a key game for the second position in Group G. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 30-20 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Nantes Reze dominated on the defensive end, holding Venezia to just 6 points in third quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Shaqwedia Wallace (175-89, college: Temple, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import center Briana Day (193-95, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 9 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Latvian center Anete Steinberga (190-90, college: UTEP, agency: LBM Management) replied with 19 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Debora Carangelo (169-92) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Venezia. Nantes Reze moved-up to second place in Group G, which they share with defeated Venezia. Just two games before the end of Regular Season and it may be the most important game of the season next round when Venezia faces strong KP Brno trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Nantes Reze will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Miskolc on the road.
