Regular Season Round 5: MBA - Niki Lefkadas 93-59

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 4th placed Greek Niki Lefkadas' (0-4) road loss to third ranked Russian MBA (2-2) 59-93 on Thursday. The game without a history. MBA led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Liudmila Sapova (188-84) stepped up and scored 15 points and 8 assists for the winners and point guard Karina Nizamova (170-92) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Four MBA players scored in double figures. American power forward Jade Walker (187-95, college: St.John's) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian center Biljana Stjepanovic (191-87, agency: ProDep Management) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Niki Lefkadas' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. MBA maintains third place in Group B with 2-2 record having just six point less than leader Arka Gdynia. Niki Lefkadas at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. MBA will face league's second-placed Galatasaray in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Niki Lefkadas will play on the road against the league's leader Energa Torun and look forward to get finally their first victory.
