Very significant was Russian Lokomotiv's (#1, 8-1) victory against 3rd placed Croatian Cedevita (5-4) 80-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Cedevita. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 17-8. But Cedevita won third quarter 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lokomotiv made 22-of-26 charity shots (84.6 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Lokomotiv especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. It was a good game for Polish forward Mateusz Ponitka (198-93) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 8 rebounds. American forward JaJuan Johnson (206-89, college: Purdue) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Lokomotiv players scored in double figures. Lokomotiv's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Georgian-American point guard Jacob Pullen (184-89, college: Kansas St.) answered with 21 points and American guard Justin Cobbs (191-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) added 20 points in the effort for Cedevita. They have a solid series of three victories in a row. Lokomotiv maintains first place in Group B with 8-1 record. Defending Croatian champion Cedevita keeps the third position with four games lost. Lokomotiv's next round opponent will be league's second-placed ALBA Berlin on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cedevita will play against Tofas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
